Dear Readers,

Summer is in full swing now with many taking to the road or to the air for holidays but don’t forget about signing up for the SCDM 2017 Annual Conference as autumn and the conference will be here before you know it! The Annual Conference committee has selected great speakers and topics to bring you an exciting, informative program. Also don’t forget about an attendee favorite: the Technology Innovation Award. The latest cutting edge ideas are on display in this competitive contest. We will also have a Clinical Data Innovation Round Table discussion with invited speakers from HL7, Cerner, technology and pharma companies to talk about ‘Catalysts for Innovation’ – a must for data managers looking to bring innovative ideas back to their companies and share ideas for the future. Mark your calendar for Orlando, September 24-27 and register now.

Keep an eye on the website for our yearly educational survey – we want to hear from you! Also watch for our webinars and online courses. You can sign up for the Advanced Coding webinar in July or ‘The Who, What, Why, When and How of Protocol Deviations’ webinar for August 23rd. Online courses provide additional in-depth coverage of topics: Locking the Electronic Data Capture System (July 31-August 27), Project Management for the Data Manager (August 21- September 17) and Data Standards in Clinical Research (September 11- October 15). Check them out on our website!

SCDM is proud to announce a recent corporate partnership with PAREXEL International. The Corporate Partnership Program affords leading companies educational and certification opportunities for their employees and promotes thought leadership in the industry.

Join your colleagues in volunteer opportunities – share your expertise, learn from others, and meet new people who share a passion for data! Have you had a chance to check out the volunteer opportunities on the website? Currently there is a call for volunteers for the Marketing Advisory Board – please let us know if you are interested in sharing your knowledge and insights at info@scdm.org.

We look forward to seeing you at the SCDM Annual Conference in September and serving your needs all year through online education, thought leadership and networking opportunities. Please provide us feedback on how we are doing – we’d love to hear from you.
