SCDM membership has grown at an average rate of 15 percent per year since 2016 and this year, 2019, was no exception. We end the year with more than  2,400 members  across  44 countries.

EDUCATION

Education is the pillar of the society’s existence,  in 2020 SCDM offered and continues to deliver education through Live events and online education (webinars & online courses).

Educational Events

Due to COVID-19, SCDM succeeded to transform all 2020 educational events virtual. We gathered over 2700 participants in 5 virtual events, in US, EMEA, China and India.

Online Education

Over +900 participants learning on a variety of topics, including COVID-19 and how it affects our industry.

THOUGHT LEADERSHIP

SCDM is investing in developing new content on clinical data science, while also updating the existing publications.

White Papers

We published 2 white papers on the evolution of Clinical Data Management to Clinical Data Science and an ATR industry position paper in collaboration with eClinical Forum.

We launched an interactive Clinical Data Science portal on the website.

Existing Publications

In early 2021 we will launch the Journal of the Society for Clinical Data Management: Informatics and Data Science in Clinical Research.

We couldn’t be more excited to announce the next step in SCDM’s work to promote the translation of new innovations into practice. SCDM is transitioning Data Basics to a scholarly, peer-reviewed, on-line and open access journal. The expanded scope of the publication will help fill a gap in the biomedical literature by publishing articles with an applied focus toward data collection, management and use in the design, conduct and reporting of and sharing resources from clinical studies. Together the journal and the Good Clinical Data Management Practices (GCDMP) serve the profession by connecting the translational cycle between data and informatics science and their application in practice.
