The Society for Clinical Data Management (SCDM) set a record for attendance in their first virtual event combining their European and US events into a single extravaganza.
The theme of the 26th SCDM annual conference of Explore, Communicate and Pioneer tied into the goal to dig deeper into clinical data concepts, explore new ways of doing things and hearing from pioneers on innovative hot topics. Sessions on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Risk Based Quality Management drew the biggest crowds and inspired a lot of collaborative comments. The session with Regulatory agencies was well attended and is always the highlight of the conference.
“Hearing directly and being able to ask questions of the EMA, FDA and other Regulatory members about matters important to the Clinical Data Sciences is an unparalleled benefit of attending the SCDM conference” says Jennifer Price of THREAD research.
SCDM is being praised for its engaging platform that encouraged attendees to virtually network and connect. ‘It was an awesome Virtual experience and the Pandemic gave us a lot more opportunity to adopt the ‘good to have’ technology that I see it everywhere in our clinical trials. Kudos SCDM organizing committee’ says Sonal Shrivastava of Parexel. The event featured over 200 speakers and more than 70 sessions, all of which are available on demand allowing SCDM members to reference this information after the conference has ended.
SCDM is a global organization that offers white papers on Clinical Data Science, webinars, online courses, news updates and a certification for Clinical Data Managers. SCDM offers a variety of international events and has membership worldwide with conferences in USA, Europe, China and India. For more information of SCDM, please visit scdm.org.
