Hello SCDM Friends,
I hope you are all doing well and getting reconnected as we start to see a brighter light through the COVID storm!
Below are the latest updates of the Society:
1. SCDM Global Conference
The planning for this year’s conference is well underway. For 2022, SCDM is back IN-PERSON helping our existing members, new members, supporters and partners RECONNECT with one another in a very meaningful, hands on, and what we hope to be, a very fun way. The conference will be September 11-14 in the culturally rich, San Antonio, Texas.
The Call for Abstracts has been extended to May 5, so if you are interested in getting involved and haven’t submitted your abstract yet, please do so here. Thank you to the conference committee members who are working so hard to make this event a huge success. Registration is open, so register today and RECONNECT!
2. SCDM EMEA Leadership Forum & Conference
The SCDM EMEA Leadership Forum & Conference planning is winding down as we get closer and closer to this exciting, also in-person, conference. This year’s conference is being hosted by SCDM’s partner Novartis in beautiful Basel, Switzerland.
After two years of virtual events, we look forward to welcoming you to the SCDM 2022 EMEA Leadership Forum & Conference taking place this June 22-24. Our session chairs have been chosen, and the Call for Abstracts for this conference is still open as well, until May 8th, so you can still submit your ideas, as well as register, here: SCDM 2022 EMEA Conference – Society for Clinical Data Management (SCDM).
The Board would like to thank the EMEA Conference Committee for their dedication and commitment to making this conference go smoothly.
See you there!
3. Certification Committee:
Are you not a CCDM yet? Now it is a great opportunity as the regular CCDM exam has been launched. Please click here to get certified.
We are always looking for “Item Writers” volunteers for the CCDM Item Question Bank (must hold a current CCDM). If you are interested, please contact LaTrese [email protected] to get involved.
4. GCDMP Committee
The GCDMP revisions project is continuing at a great pace and our wonderful team of volunteers is working hard to update all the remaining GCDMP chapters as soon as possible. More than half of the chapters have been completely rehauled and are now fully evidence-based information thanks the leadership of our Chief Editor and the GCDMP Committee members.
The GCDMP Team is always welcoming volunteers and has several different types of roles available. To find out more about GCDMP, check it out here. Please contact [email protected] for more information on how to help.
5. Innovation CommitteeSCDM is always exploring the future and the Innovation Committee is the driving force. Hopefully you’ve read the numerous white papers the committee has published. If not, you can find them here.
The Innovation Committee continues to explore hot topics, partner with other organizations and break through traditional DM boundaries. While we as an industry have come a long way in recent years, innovation never stops and many of our membership continue their great interest in RBQM/RBDM, AI/ML, DHT, eSource, etc. as evidenced by the large majority of abstracts we still continue to receive for our annual conferences.
Lastly, I am happy to announce that on September 1st, the SCDM Innovation Committee will release the latest CDS position paper: Evolution toward Clinical Data Science. Get the paper in your inbox.
6. Education Committee:Are you naturally curious? Do you just want to learn more about your role as a data manager and the data management industry, concepts, guidelines and best practices? Look no further. Every quarter, SCDM’s online education portal has new offerings, something for everyone! In May and June alone, we are offering 3 Instructor-led courses and 2 webinars on topics, such as metrics, data management plans, adaptive learning and much more. To explore SCDM Online Education or to register for a course or webinar, click here.
Thanks for all of your continued contributions and support and the Board and I are looking forward to getting to RECONNECT with all of you at this years’ Annual Conference!
