Updates from the Board – November 2022

Hello SCDM Friends,

I hope you are all doing well.

This issue of Data Connections is not talking about the Society updates in detail because they will be shared in the coming months in the SCDM Annual Report. Instead, I want to take the opportunity to reflect on this year that is coming to an end – a year with many positive changes in the Society.

Reconnecting (finally!) in San Antonio at SCDM 2022 this September – after three years – was exciting, emotional and most of all inspiring. We witnessed an unparalleled energy and common drive to work together for the future of the clinical research industry. We are truly grateful for all those who worked tirelessly to bring us back together. Thank you!

2022 also marks the end of the SCDM 3-Year Strategic Plan launched back in 2020. As we speak, the SCDM leadership is meeting in Brussels to discuss the society’s priorities and pave the way forward for our community. Exciting times!

What is also exciting is that, in 2023, SCDM will go through a complete rebranding. Our industry is changing, and SCDM wants to remain at the forefront of these changes. Just as our profession is constantly changing, our brand needs to evolve and progress.

With this in mind, we are looking forward to engaging you in this transformation and co-creating our future. On behalf of the SCDM Executive Committee and Board of Trustees I want to thank you for being a part of SCDM and we look forward to the exciting future of our industry.

Maria Craze, M.B.A.
