ReadoutAI wins the SCDM 2024 Innovation Award in the category Innovator Start Up of the year
The SCDM Innovation Awards are designed to recognize those organizations that have demonstrated the highest level of integration of Clinical Data Science, driving substantial progress towards its realization, through their people, processes, or technology.
In 2024, we introduced a new award category, the “Innovator Start-up of the Year”. ReadoutAI was the inaugural recipient of this award, and we had the chance to catch up with the company’s CEO, Matthew Michelson, who explains more about ReadoutAI’s mission and how it feels to be the first recipient of this award.
Matthew Michelson on winning the first SCDM “Innovator Start-up of the Year” award.
Our mission at ReadoutAI is to dramatically speed up tasks in data management and biometrics, improving efficiency in clinical trials, and getting therapies to market faster.
To do this, ReadoutAI automates some of the most tedious tasks in clinical data management, speeding up cycle times by 85%. Our combinations of AI models make tasks such as data quality assessment, medical monitoring, site comparison, and database lock far more efficient and easier for our users. In addition, we automate multiple common, rote reporting and biostatistics tasks, such as generating baseline characteristics reports and adverse events reports, complete with statistical analysis and narratives. The goal is to help teams clean data and leverage it for improved data-driven decision making and analytics, across the lifecycle of a clinical trial, regardless of trial stage or therapy area.
Beyond the AI itself, our platform has a deep focus on privacy and usability. We never store the input data (“what’s yours is yours”), we don’t train our models based on user feedback, and the tool is simple to use and simpler to implement. These tenets of modern, agile software products allow for rapid adoption and immediate realization of value for our users.
We are thrilled to receive the SCDM 2024 Innovation Award for “Innovator Start-up of the Year”. The SCDM mission of promoting innovation and education blends so well with our philosophy to push the field forward by employing the latest technology to develop practical, useful solutions. And the emphasis on patients aligns with our ultimate goals as well. The efficiency of data management is critical to the efficiency of clinical trials.
